Programmes
  1. Case Handling
    To promote whole-person development of students, an integrated guidance and discipline approach is adopted. The Guidance Team manages emotional, behavioural and adjustment problems while students who demonstrate serious personal, family, and peer problems are referred to the school social worker. Cases involving serious offences will be managed by the Discipline Master. Repeated latecomers cases are handled by guidance teachers. Those who show little or no improvement after counselling are referred to the Discipline Master or school social worker
  2. Preventive and Developmental Programmes
    1. The Form 1 Form Teacher Parent Meeting– an annual function which gives the new Form 1 students and parents a basic understanding of the school environment and facilities.
    2. Introduction of counselling service to Form 1 students – class visits are conducted to introduce the school social work and counselling services
    3. Recruitment of G.C. volunteers – senior students are recruited and divided into different groups. Training sessions are provided before badges are conferred.
    4. The Buddies Scheme – F.1 students selected by Form Teachers are matched with F.4 buddies recommended by teachers.
    5. Peer Counselors’ Scheme – F.2 and F.3 students referred by their Form Teachers are matched with F.6 Peer Counselors. The programme aims at helping F.2 and F.3 students with academic and / or behavioural issues.
    6. Personal Growth through adventure-based activities – the programme is run with the help of social workers. The activities help participants explore their strengths and weaknesses and set goals for the future.
    7. Guidance talks on topics like Relationships and Sexuality, are arranged for students of different Forms.
    8. Counselling students referred by teachers. Guidance teachers provide counselling services to students who may have learning, emotional, or behavioural problems.
  3. Group and Case activities
    Individual guidance is given to pupils who are either self-referred or teacher-referred. Staff development and case conferences are held every now and then.

Job Description
  1. To collect, update, and disseminate information on further education, job opportunities, scholarships, and relevant education training programmes, and display them on the Notice Board on the South Wing of the 1st floor, the Careers Library in Room A3-36, Aimar Wing.
  2. Recruit student volunteers who assist in career programmes.
  3. Conduct surveys on entry requirements of tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and overseas, their different careers and education opportunities, and design careers programmes upon the survey findings.
  4. Process applications for further studies (transcripts and letters of recommendation).
  5. Invite guest speakers to talk on study and work opportunities and organize careers visits, giving students exposure to the working world.
  6. Organize workshops for applications to overseas studies.
  7. Provide individual and group guidance on study and job opportunities.
  8. Collect statistics from Form 3, and 6 students on their choice of study and aspiring careers.
  9. Collect Statistics on school leavers.
  10. Help students process applications for scholarships and awards. Provide interview training for nominees.
  11. Organise simulated interviews for students applying for further studies.

  1. To adopt a preventive and proactive approach in school discipline.

  3. Eight topics are included in Moral Education:

  5. Calendars are drawn which cover the date of implementation of each topic and evaluation meeting.
  6. Two committees are set up to design the manuals for conducting Moral Education and Life Skills Development during Form Teachers’ Period.
  7. The teaching materials will be given to all form teachers one week before implementation of the topic after briefing and explaining to them the objectives and use of the manual.
  8. An evaluation will be held after finishing each topic: All students and all Form Teachers will attempt the evaluation.
  9. The data in the evaluation forms will be analyzed. The feedback and result will be disseminated to Form Teachers and teachers who prepare the manual to facilitate improvement and further progress.
    * Topics 8-10 in Life Skills Development are for F.6 only.

Regulations
  1. Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities.
  2. An ECA Promotion Fair will be conducted in late September to facilitate F.1 to F.4 students club membership enrolment.
  3. F. 1 students are to enroll in at least 3 and no more than 4 clubs - one Cultural, one Sports, one Service.
  4. F. 2 to F.4 students are to enroll in at least 2 and no more than 3 clubs.
  5. Failure to attend club activities may result in membership status not being posted on the SAP, depending on Teacher Advisor’s discretion.
  6. To meet the changing needs, the school will have the discretion to dissolve any outdated or inactive club or societies. (See 'Guidelines for Running Clubs")
Guidelines for the Issuance of the SAP / SLP
  1. Students’ activities, as well as awards and achievements, will be recorded in the students’individual i-portfolio section under the e-class system.
  2. Under the new NSS system, F.6 students will be issued a Student Learning Profile (SLP) recording their activities undertaken in school F.4- F.6..
  3. F.1 to F.5 students will be issued a Student Activities Profile (SAP).
  4. The School official ECA record in the SAP/SLP will include only the following:
    4.1 Awards and Achievements:
         4.1.1 The first 3 places of interschool competitions, namely First, Second and Third. Winners winning the Fourth
                  place title in any Sports events will also be recorded as it is an official title recognized by the HKSSF.
         4.1.2 Students attaining scholarships and awards conferred by government / educational organizations.
         4.1.3 The following will not be officially recorded under Awards and Achievements:
                  - Awards for winners bearing the ‘Merit’ title
                  - Awards for any interschool or regional competitions undertaken by students themselves but not nominated /
                    recommended by school
                  - Any title of recognition given for helpers in school functions (although hours will count for recognized
                    community service of OLE (see P.92))

  2. The theme of F.1-3 Form Teachers’ Period is Moral Education, the theme of F.4-6 Form Teachers’ Period is Life Skills Development.
  3. Eight topics are included in Moral Education:

  5. Calendars are drawn which cover the date of implementation of each topic and evaluation meeting.
  6. Two committees are set up to design the manuals for conducting Moral Education and Life Skills Development during Form Teachers’ Period.
  7. The teaching materials will be given to all form teachers one week before implementation of the topic after briefing and explaining to them the objectives and use of the manual.
  8. An evaluation will be held after finishing each topic: All students and all Form Teachers will attempt the evaluation.
  9. The data in the evaluation forms will be analyzed. The feedback and result will be disseminated to Form Teachers and teachers who prepare the manual to facilitate improvement and further progress.
    * Topics 8-10 in Life Skills Development are for F.6 only.

  10. To monitor the issuance and data input of all students’ activities record
Regulations
  1. Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities.
  2. An ECA Promotion Fair will be conducted in late September to facilitate F.1 to F.4 students club membership enrolment.
  3. F. 1 students are to enroll in at least 3 and no more than 4 clubs - one Cultural, one Sports, one Service.
  4. F. 2 to F.4 students are to enroll in at least 2 and no more than 3 clubs.
  5. Failure to attend club activities may result in membership status not being posted on the SAP, depending on Teacher Advisor’s discretion.
  6. To meet the changing needs, the school will have the discretion to dissolve any outdated or inactive club or societies. (See 'Guidelines for Running Clubs")
Guidelines for the Issuance of the SAP / SLP
  1. Students’ activities, as well as awards and achievements, will be recorded in the students’individual i-portfolio section under the e-class system.
  2. Under the new NSS system, F.6 students will be issued a Student Learning Profile (SLP) recording their activities undertaken in school F.4- F.6..
  3. F.1 to F.5 students will be issued a Student Activities Profile (SAP).
  4. The School official ECA record in the SAP/SLP will include only the following:
    4.1 Awards and Achievements:
         4.1.1 The first 3 places of interschool competitions, namely First, Second and Third. Winners winning the Fourth
                  place title in any Sports events will also be recorded as it is an official title recognized by the HKSSF.
         4.1.2 Students attaining scholarships and awards conferred by government / educational organizations.
         4.1.3 The following will not be officially recorded under Awards and Achievements:
                  - Awards for winners bearing the ‘Merit’ title
                  - Awards for any interschool or regional competitions undertaken by students themselves but not nominated /
                    recommended by school
                  - Any title of recognition given for helpers in school functions (although hours will count for recognized
                    community service of OLE (see P.92))
