Championship in the All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Badminton (Team) Competitions

The Badminton Team is pleased to announce that they have captured the Championship in the All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Badminton (Team) Competitions. The finals were held on 8th May at Shun Lee Tsuen Sports Centre. We won the first game and lost two after that. We took the fourth game which was a double. And eventually with strong determination and grit, we won the final game which gave the team the championship. It was a tough match and students did well under stress.

Congratulations to the team and thank you to their coach Mr Lam, teacher advisor Mr Leung and all Old Boy and parent supporters!

Result of the HKICPA Accounting and Business Management Case Competition

The College is glad to announce that after six months of hard work, our representatives are awarded with the Certificate of Merit out of 526 teams with over 1,800 students from around 130 schools in the HKICPA Accounting and Business Management Case Competition 2016 - 2017. The Award Ceremony was held on 29th April, 2017 in the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs auditorium. 
 
The HKICPA Accounting and Business Management Case Competition 2016-2017 aims to develop the ability of senior secondary school students, especially those studying Business, Accounting and Financial Studies, in using accounting information for business skills and future development. This competition aims to improve their financial, analytical, business management, marketing strategic planning and proposal writing skills; and to learn more about the case company.
 
This year's selected company for the case competition was Bauhaus International (Holdings) Limited (Stock code: 483), a fashion company that our team has investigated deeply into.

Congratulations to 3E Cheong Cheuk Yin Aristeo who has captured the Book Report Recommendation Award in “The 28th Selection of Good Books for Secondary Students” which is held by The Hong Kong Professional Teachers’ Union.

On Monday 1st May 4F Bai Zhiyuan received an award in the 28th Selection of Good Books for Secondary Students Competition organized by the Hong Kong Professional Teachers’ Union. The participants were required to read a book from the suggested book list and then write a Book Review which had to be more than 800 words in length. The College congratulates all the participants, the awardee and the Chinese Language teachers.

The Math Team has captured the Championship in the 19th Hong Kong Mathematical High Achievers Selection Contest. There were 258 schools and 984 students participating in this contest. The prize-giving ceremony was held on 29th April 2017. Here are the results we obtained.

Joyful Fruit Day

The PTA has been supporting the school in promoting a healthy diet to students. This year, the PTA continued to hold the Joyful Fruit Day for our students. Parent volunteers bought and distributed apples to our lower form students on 25th April. The aim of this activity is to arouse students’ awareness of a healthy diet. In addition, the PTA is going to hold a parent seminar on Friday 28th at 6:30 pm in the Large Lecture Theatre on the topic of ‘Healthy Diet’. The guest speaker is Mr Frankie Siu who is a professional nutritionist. Interested parents and students are welcome to attend.

HKCC Business Excellence Contest 2016/17

The College is pleased to announce that our team has won the Judges Commendation Award, among 121 entries from entries from secondary schools on Hong Kong, in the HKCC Business Excellence Contest. The Awards Presentation Ceremony was held on 8 April 2017, in PolyU West Kowloon Campus.

The HKCC Business Excellence Contest is an annual business competition organized by Hong Kong Community College of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for Secondary 4-6 students. The theme for the competition this year was “Celebration of Corporate Anniversary”. Participating teams were required to analyze the business of a corporation in Hong Kong and make use of their creativity and critical thinking skills to design a gift set with a new slogan, for the corporation to achieve specific marketing objective(s), as well as to celebrate its anniversary.
