The Christmas season brought our school community together in a vibrant celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Our hearts were uplifted by the angelic carols and sacred hymns that filled the Hall, deepening our faith. Reverend Father Bernardo Cervellera led us in prayer and reflection, reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas and the power of love that unites us all.

We express our sincere gratitude to everyone who played a part in making this event a success - the Catholic Society, the choir, the staff, and the student helpers. Your dedication and hard work truly made this occasion exceptional.

As we move forward, let us carry the joyous spirit of Christmas within us. May we continue to spread love, kindness, and compassion to all those we encounter, keeping the true essence of Christmas alive. 

The Junior and Senior Form Assemblies were held on 8th and 15th December, 2023 respectively. Both assemblies highlighted the exceptional achievements of our students.

At the Junior Form Assembly, prizes were presented to the winners of the 3rd Hong Kong School English Handwriting Competition and the Salute To Teachers Campaign Bookmark Design Competition, recognizing the creative talents of Lasallians. The assembly also included a sharing session from Josh Chan (6G) about the intensive training he and his team had undergone to prepare for the esteemed Hong Kong Brain Bee Competition, where the team eventually captured the overall Champion and Josh himself was awarded the 4th runner-up among more than 300 contestants. The hard-earned awards have showcased their dedication to neuroscience. In addition, Tam Yat Kwan (5G) shared his participation in the local tour to the Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Centre and the Palace Museum, organised by the National and Civic Education Team, which helped promote a sense of national pride and cultural appreciation.

At the Senior Form Assembly, prizes were also presented to the winners of the 3rd Hong Kong Chinese and English Handwriting Competition. The success from the Science Team, NCE Team and the Softball Team were celebrated. Our school team achieved the overall Champion at the International Biology Olympiad. In the Civic Education Competition held by the Hope Federation Union, students from our school got into the semi-finals where Chan Tsz Yin (6E) came second. Additionally, the Softball Team achieved outstanding results, coming 3rd in the Hong Kong Inter-Secondary Schools Softball Competition. Preparation for the competitions and hurdles encountered were shared following the prize presentations.

The College would continue to foster a supportive environment that encourages student excellence and holistic development through the active participation of activities and competitions.  

Thank you for joining us at another unforgettable Family Fun Day! Food stalls to satisfy cravings, game stalls for endless laughter, and souvenir stalls to bring home cherished memories — the students, parents, teachers and old boys of La Salle have all contributed to the day’s success. Guests were also captivated by spectacular performances from talented students, old boys, parents and our teachers. It's a day filled with joy, connection, and celebration for the whole Lasallian family! We hope that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!  

Congratulations to our boys for capturing the Merit Award in the 5G Campus Application Competition organized by the OFCA (Office of the Communications Authority). Among all the Hong Kong Secondary School Teams, our team has been selected as one of the ten finalists. In the final pitching, our team demonstrated their idea of the "Metalab," a virtual Science laboratory that allows for the conduction of various experiments and enables online collaboration in related areas. During the prize-presentation ceremony, our team was interviewed by the Government's Information Services Department, and the interview video will be aired on the Information Services Department website on 17 December 2023.

We are delighted to have had the privilege of inviting Dr. Wang Yuan from the Chinese Academy of Sciences to visit our school and enlighten the Form 3 students about the remarkable findings in dinosaur fossil excavation in China. We are truly honoured to have witnessed this captivating presentation.

Dr. Wang's extensive expertise and experience have provided us with invaluable insights, enabling students to develop a deeper understanding of the discovery and research of dinosaurs in China. Such academic exchange opportunities play a vital role in nurturing students' scientific curiosity and spirit of exploration. We hope that this event will inspire students to cultivate a love for science and serve as a wellspring of inspiration for their future endeavors.

Once again, we sincerely thank Dr. Wang and eagerly anticipate more opportunities for academic exchange in the future.
 

The 2023 La Salle College Talent Quest "Resplendence" was held on 24th November, attracting a full house of audience members who admired and marvelled at the talents La Salle had to offer. Highly anticipated guest performers Terence Lam and Panther Chan elevated the Quest to a new level and together with our gifted solo and group finalists charmed the ecstatic audience with their heart-stopping performances.

Our Lasallian performers delivered impeccable showcases of their unique skills and talents, and utterly enthralled the audience with their resplendent displays of emotion and passion. We would like to congratulate all our homegrown talents for their perseverance and courageous displays of skill, and hope the 2023 Talent Quest may inspire more to pursue their own passions. 

We are pleased to announce that our school A Grade Rugby Team completed the playoffs of All Hong Kong Inter-School Competition BOC Rugby Sevens on 25 November 23, and won the Second. .

Let us extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Rugby Team for their remarkable achievement. We would like to express our gratitude to Coach Mr. Li and our teacher advisers, Mr. Ma and Mr. Chan, for their efforts in guiding the team towards excellence.
