May the lessons and grace received in this Mass continue to resonate within us. The Jazz and Street Dance Section of the 60th Schools Dance Festival concluded on 31 January 2024, and we are thrilled to announce that the Dance Team made remarkable achievements in several competitions. A total of 22 passionate dancers unprecedentedly enrolled four dances in the section and brought home the following awards:

Group (We are young) - Honours Award & Choreography Award
Group (The boys) - Honours Award & Choreography Award
Duet (Back to the past) - Highly Commended Award
Trio (3 of us) - Commended Award

Congratulations to the Dance Team and special thanks to their team coaches Mr Bon Kwong, Ms Vicky Lam, Ms PoMiu Leung and Mr Thepsorn Prateeb, and teacher advisors Ms Amy Poon, Ms Joanne Yim, Ms Vicky Yu, Mr Philip Chan and Mr Wesley Tang for their unwavering support and guidance throughout the journey. 

The Inter-school competition for this year concluded on January 20, 2024. The La Salle Squash Team secured third place in the team event. Additionally, Law Cyrus Pak Ho (4B) won the championship in the B Grade, and Yuen Tsz Long (2D) achieved second place in the C Grade.

Our Chinese Drum Team participated in 第五屆香港敲擊樂大賽 - 中國鼓樂合奏(中學組) on 21 January 2024. With solid and energetic performances, the team captured the Gold Prize in the competition.

We are delighted to share that Josh Chan (6G) and Vincent Leung (6G) have been selected as Finalists in the 38th Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award in recognition of their excellent academic and extra-curricular achievements. Both of them participated in multiple Enrichment Programmes such as interaction with hearing-impaired people, local community tour and VR experience on dementia.

We are proud to announce the successful conclusion of the F.6 Parting Ceremony, a bittersweet event that marked the departure of our beloved graduates. During the ceremony, our esteemed school supervisor highlighted the exceptional nature of this year's graduates, acknowledging them as the ‘Service Learning Pioneers’ who have exemplified dedication to learning, serving, and caring throughout their journey at La Salle College.

The event was filled with poignant moments as students had the opportunity to reflect on their time at the school. A heartfelt photo montage video allowed them to reminisce about cherished memories, fostering a sense of nostalgia and camaraderie among the graduating class. Additionally, students were encouraged to write a postcard to their future selves, which will be sent to their home addresses a year from now, serving as a sweet reminder of their growth and experiences.

As our graduates embark on the next chapter of their lives, we extend our warmest wishes and support to each and every one of them. We have no doubt that they will continue to embody the values of learning, service, and care as they venture into the world beyond our school gates. Best of luck to the students, and may they find continued success and fulfillment in all their future endeavors.

Chung Pak Lun, Paolo (F.6G) recently attended the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) held in Nov/ Dec at Expo City, Dubai as an observer. He had been chosen as one of two Outstanding Student Ambassadors to represent Hong Kong at the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the UNCCC, at a Student Ambassador Training Programme organised by The Conservancy Association.

The student ambassadors will raise awareness of climate change and promote the importance of fulfilling climate commitments when they return to Hong Kong from the UNCCC in Dubai.
