La Salle College is proud to announce that our English Debating Team has clinched the 1st Runner-Up title at the prestigious Hong Kong Secondary Schools Debating Championship Enhanced Format Grand Finals (2025-26).

Hosted at La Salle College on 3rd July 2026, the Grand Final saw our team represent the Proposition against Wah Yan College, Hong Kong, debating the motion: “This House, as a progressive female candidate in a conservative country, would use conventional gender roles as a tactic in political campaigning.”

Our debaters demonstrated exceptional strategic acumen and eloquence. While the decision narrowly favoured the Opposition, the adjudicator, Mr. Perry Ge, commended our students for their rigorous argumentation and quick wit during floor questions.

Sincere gratitude is extended to the adjudicator, Mr. Perry Ge, for his valuable time and insightful feedback. Appreciation also goes to the opposing team’s coach, Mr. Allen Judge, and their teacher advisor, Ms. Pang, for making the debate possible. Furthermore, the College congratulates Wah Yan College, Hong Kong, for a phenomenal debate, and special recognition is extended to the audience from Maryknoll Convent School (Secondary Section) for their enthusiastic support.

Deepest appreciation is then extended to our team vice-captains, Y. Yang (F.4) and P.C.Chan  (F.4), along with N.N. Chan (F.4), for their immense dedication and exemplary performance. Heartfelt thanks also go to our two junior team members for smoothly hosting the event.
