We are thrilled to announce that La Salle College has officially joined the Secondary School Coral Nursery Programme, organised by the Coral Academy, the School of Life Sciences, CUHK, for the 2025-26 academic year! True to our Lasallian mission to “serve the community,” our boys have embarked on an unforgettable marine conservation journey.

Beyond the Classroom: Immersive Learning
To kickstart their training, our team went behind the scenes at Hong Kong’s premier marine facilities to uncover secrets hidden from the general public. At Hoi Ha Wan Marine Centre, they studied local biodiversity up close, while an exclusive back-of-house visit to Ocean Park’s Grand Aquarium revealed the massive life-support and filtration systems keeping the marine world thriving.

Our Daily Campus Routine
Armed with expert knowledge, our student-scientists brought the ocean back to LSC! To keep our delicate campus nursery thriving, the team committed to a rigorous daily care routine including water quality checks, tank maintenance and growth measurements.

The Major Milestone
Thanks to this unwavering daily commitment, our corals grew beautifully! Just recently, they were successfully transplanted into the wild at Tolo Channel, actively restoring Hong Kong’s precious underwater ecosystems.
