Congratulations to our Robotics Team members for achieving spectacular results at the 21st IET/MATE ROV Competition held on the weekend of 25–26 April 2026!

Competing as Gyrodos Robotics in the Ranger (senior) division and Team Magikarp in the Scout (junior) division, our students secured First Runner-up in the Scout division and the Best Team Spirit award in the Ranger division.

This achievement marks the culmination of over eight months of intensive work. Our members demonstrated their engineering prowess by designing and building the Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Palkia and the Vertical Profiling Float (VPF) Magikarp, ultimately presenting their completed crafts to a distinguished panel of judges.

Throughout the grueling two-day contest, the team showcased remarkable tenacity, creativity, and teamwork. They successfully deployed Palkia and Magikarp to tackle real-world challenges faced in Arctic regions, ranging from protecting subsea assets and tracking icebergs to identifying invasive species.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our Teacher Advisors and Mentors—Mr. Terry Lam, Mr. Timothy Goh, Mr. Jonathan Sze, Mr. Gary Ho, Rex Sir, Jimmy Sir, Cloof Sir, and Max Sir—for their invaluable technical guidance. We also extend our gratitude to our sponsor, Leaplight, for their unwavering support from the project’s inception to its conclusion. Finally, congratulations to all members of Gyrodos Robotics and Team Magikarp for their commitment, hard work, and innovative spirit.
