On 6 November, our school hosted a Mindful Eating Workshop for all Form 5 students during the Form Teacher Period, focusing on mental well-being. The activity was expertly facilitated by social workers from the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG).
The session commenced with a deep relaxation exercise, where students wore heated eye masks to calm their minds and establish a state of quiet presence. Following this, the social workers guided students through the deliberate process of eating snacks, specifically nuts and raisins. By focusing intensely on the aroma, texture, and taste, students practised mindful consumption, learning to appreciate the moment and their relationship with food. This practical experience offered vital tools for the F.5 cohort, helping them to enhance concentration and reduce the stress often associated with their demanding pre-DSE academic workload. The activity emphasised that mindfulness is an accessible, everyday skill. The workshop concluded successfully, providing students with valuable techniques to foster greater peace and focus as they continue their academic journey.
