On 3 October, we gathered for the monthly Mass, a cornerstone of spiritual life at La Salle College. We are deeply grateful to Reverend Father Bernardo Cervellera for presiding as celebrant and for sharing a moving homily with us.
Father Bernardo reminded us that the presence of Jesus is our true rest, our strength, and our joy. Though life may often leave us feeling alone or overwhelmed, Christ never abandons us. His friendship is not fleeting like human friendships, but enduring and faithful. By entrusting our struggles to Him in prayer, we allow His love to transform our lives.
Drawing on the example of St Francis of Assisi, Father Bernardo emphasised that true happiness does not lie in wealth or power, but in living simply and joyfully in Christ. Above all, he called us to “boast only in the Cross of Jesus”, which turns suffering into victory and gives meaning to our mission as Christians.
This month also marked the commissioning of our new Catholic Society committee. They are committed to strengthening the Catholic ethos of our school and inspiring others to live out the Gospel in word and deed.
As we move forward, may we embrace the call to rest in Christ, draw strength from His Cross, and live out our faith with renewed courage, hope, and love.
