Our students had a wonderful time exploring the beautifully preserved 200-year-old Hakka village at Sam Tung Uk Museum, home to the “Lost and Sound — Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage” exhibition. Through lively interactive displays and hands-on craft activities, they discovered the stories behind lion dances, Cantonese opera, bamboo-steamer making, dim sum traditions, wedding customs, lanterns, and more.

Walking through rooms furnished with original household items and the central hall once used for village gatherings, they gained a deeper appreciation of the living heritage that continues to shape Hong Kong’s culture and identity.

The visit sparked curiosity and pride as students connected with the living heritage that continues to shape Hong Kong’s culture – learning not only about the past, but how these traditions remain part of our everyday lives.
