We are thrilled to announce that the Tenpin Bowling Team came second runner-up in the recent interschool tenpin bowling competition! Their remarkable skills, dedication, and teamwork led them to marvelous achievement, securing the top spot among tough competitors.

The College extends its congratulations to the Tenpin Bowling Team for their hard work and perseverance . Special recognition must be given to the team coach, Mr. Vincent Lau and the teacher advisor, Mr. Ma Kin Kwok. The team would also like to express gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support throughout the season. 

We invite all Lasallians to support our annual raffle event. By purchasing a ticket, you not only contribute to a great cause but also get a chance to win amazing prizes! The Fund is primarily used to supplement resources needed for educational and formation activities in schools and educational centres run by the Brothers. The Fund will support the following programmes:

I. Formation activities including those run by or for the Hong Kong Lasallian Education Council, the Asia Pacific Lasallian Youth Congress Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Lasallian Youth Movement, and the Lasallian Volunteers; and

II. Educational projects or projects for the needy in Hong Kong and Overseas Lasallian Mission Support run by the De La Salle Brothers.

Let us draw inspiration from our founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle. Despite being born into wealth, he made a choice to connect with the less fortunate, giving away his possessions to provide high-quality education to underprivileged and marginalized children.

On 25th April 2024, our boys attended the Inaugural Lecture of the Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Professorship in Robotic Surgery held by the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The lecture was given by Professor Phillip W.Y. Chiu, the current dean of Faculty of Medicine at CUHK, who is also an old boy of the College. Themed ‘Dare to Dream’, the lecture covered Professor Chiu’s journey from art and medicine to robotics and translational research.

This experience provided valuable insights into the profession for aspiring young minds who wish to devote themselves to the medical industry. We would like to thank Professor Chiu for the invitation and the memorable afternoon he gave our boys. 

Congratulations to the Form 5 French boys and NCS students for their contribution to "Voyages en Asie Pacifique" that compiles contributions from French students and teachers from 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The book delves into a variety of themes, such as history, culture, gastronomy and nature, highlighting the significance and richness of these countries.
Students from La Salle College have, alongside others from Shatin College, Diocesan Boys School and Alliance Française, contributed to the part dedicated to Hong Kong, more specifically focused on nature and landscape. 

Admission Officers of LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong visited the College and met aspiring medical students on 18 April 2024.

The presentation delivered by the three leading medical experts, Professors Ivan HUNG, Kenny KWAN and Patrick CHUNG, gave Lasallians an invaluable insight into how they could fully develop their potential, realise their dreams, expand their horizons and build global connections. 

We had an incredible visit from 8 boys of De La Salle College, Auckland! From 12th to 19th April, they stayed with our amazing host families, immersing themselves in our community and creating unforgettable memories.

During their time with us, they had the opportunity to sit in our lessons, gaining insights into our educational system and fostering connections with our students. They also embarked on a delightful gastronomic adventure, trying the flavors of our local cuisine and expanding their culinary horizons. To embrace our vibrant traditions, they enthusiastically participated in the exhilarating lion dance, experiencing the energy and artistry behind this captivating performance.

We made sure to showcase the beauty of our surroundings by taking them to witness the stunning harbour view, where they were mesmerised by the picturesque scenery. Throughout their stay, they fully immersed themselves in our local culture, engaging in various activities that deepened their understanding and appreciation of our way of life.

We are grateful for the visit of these boys from De La Salle College, Auckland, and the meaningful connections that were forged. The memories created during their stay will forever be treasured, and we are looking forward to visiting them in Auckland soon.

The Health and Environmental Promotion Team and the Geography Department, in collaboration with The Conservancy Association, are proud to have hosted a recent sharing session with our Outstanding COP28 Ambassador, Paolo Chung, on 30 April. Paolo recently attended the prestigious COP28 Conference in Dubai from 30 November to 13 December 2023 and shared his invaluable insights with our Form 1 students.

In his inspiring speech, Paolo shared his transformative experience, highlighting the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones to embrace challenges that can lead to significant achievements. He encouraged everyone to dare to dream and aspire to greatness, regardless of their backgrounds.

Join us in celebrating Paolo's remarkable journey and let his words motivate and ignite the fire within our boys to dream big and impact the world positively.

The 2nd Annual Book Month was held to promote a love of reading as well as to celebrate World Book Day. There was a book fair with multiple publishers offering attractive discounts to students, allowing them to explore their literary passions and expand their personal libraries.

To enhance the experience, Language Panels worked together to organise a variety of interactive reading activities which were a hit with students! The immersive experience was met with positive feedback from our boys.

Hopefully this renewed passion for reading can continue to grow in the boys and carry into their future.
