School Opening Mass

Our school came together in a beautiful celebration of faith and unity during the Opening Mass. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Reverend Father Bernardo Cervellera and Reverend Father Ambrose Mong as our celebrants of our Opening Mass. In the presence of our dedicated teachers, staff, and enthusiastic students, we offered prayers of thanksgiving and asked for guidance and wisdom.

With hearts full of gratitude, we gathered to seek blessings for the upcoming academic year. The Mass reminded us of the importance of perceiving the world through the lens of faith and recognising the needs of others as we embark on our educational journey.

In the meantime, the committee members of the Catholic Society have been commissioned to cultivate the Catholic ethos on our campus throughout the upcoming year.

As we begin this new chapter, let us carry the spirit of the Opening Mass with us. May the values instilled during this sacred time inspire us to shine our light on and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Announcement from Aviation Club

This summer 4 current students and 3 Old Boys (class of 2021) received flight training up to a first solo, being able to fly alone in the cockpit for the very first time without being accompanied by instructors, in Canada. They translated all that they learnt here at the LSC Aerospace Lab and HK Aviation Club and put all their knowledge into practical use up in the air. Finally, all of them realised their dreams of flying and obtained their first solo certificate. Thanks to Mr. Samson Kwok (HK Aerospace Leaders Association), Mr. Hogan Loh (HK Aviation Club) and Mr. Charlie Leung (parent helper) to make it possible. Congratulations to the teacher Advisors of the LSC Aviation Club, Mr. Kennard Liu and Mr. Terry Lam.

STEAM Team Announcement

Organized by the Department of Computing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Metaverse Creators of Tomorrow Competition and Training Programme ("programme") is a local inter-secondary school initiative that connects senior secondary students to develop ideas addressing real-world problems and create a Metaverse space demonstrating future solutions.

The programme challenges students to apply their knowledge and abilities in Metaverse technology and digital content creation. It comprises three stages: Training, Elimination Round Competition, and Final Round Competition. Students who demonstrate great potential as future leaders, practitioners, and creators in the Metaverse field, and who exhibit innovative thinking and novel perspectives, have the opportunity to earn bonus points for admission when applying for PolyU's undergraduate programmes, as well as win attractive gift prizes.

Through their imaginative vision and technical expertise, our students Ian Ng from 6E, Wilson Ho and Lonz Lee from 6F achieved an outstanding accomplishment as the 1st runner-up in the Final Round Competition.

The College would like to extend its heartfelt congratulations to them for their remarkable achievement and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors.

Congratulations to Lee Yat Yuen Yen (5C) and Wu Man Hei Jasper (5E) who have captured the Merit Award in the PolyU Engineering Project Competition!

In the competition, each team chose 3 out of 6 projects and was assigned one of the projects for the competition. The team was assigned to the project "Smart Home with Internet of Things".

Both students value the experience of participating in the competition, which taught them to step out of their comfort zone and face challenges. They would like to express their gratitude to the teacher advisors of the STEAM team for their support and guidance.

Hong Kong Blockchain Olympiad 2023

We are delighted to announce the outstanding performance of the STEAM team in the Hong Kong Blockchain Olympiad 2023. Four members of the team, namely Cheung Chun Lok (5G), Shang Chengze (5G), Lam Lap Yu (4G), and He Jeremy Guan-Tian (5G), have demonstrated incredible competency in formulating innovative solutions with Blockchain technology in their project, "BlockBuster: A Blockchain-Based Public Self-Driving Car Rental Service." They have captured the Bronze award as the 2nd runner-up team in the final round.

Another student from the STEAM team, Lu Runbo (5G), has also performed well in the competition and was part of one of the teams among the top 10 best performing teams.

The competition invited students to propose solutions to real-world problems using blockchain technology. The secondary track consisted of three submission stages and multiple workshops spanning from July to September, where students had to formulate and present their Blockchain solutions in various formats, including a written proposal, a video, and a poster board.

The best performing teams have been invited to participate in the GBA-IBCOL Finals, as well as the International Blockchain Olympiad, held later this year. We are proud to announce that both teams will be advancing into the GBA-IBCOL Finals.

Congratulations to the students for their incredible achievement, and we wish them good luck in the next stages of the competition.
