On April 9th, 33 students from La Salle College embarked on a journey with Adventureship (乘風航), organised by the Student Formation Team, for a day of aquatic adventure and team building tasks led by Mrs. Ronnie Tang, Br. Jude, and Mr. Colin Lai.
Adventureship is a non-profit organisation that provides team building training to various organisations. On board the Jockey Club Huan, students were asked to step out of their comfort zones and complete challenging tasks that required them to display their creativity, problem-solving skills, leadership ability, and teamwork.
The highlight of the trip was swinging off the deck from a rope and eventually leaping off the roof of the ship's main cabin, plunging deep into the sea.
Both students and teachers had an enjoyable experience and undoubtedly ended the day braver and wiser!
The Careers Team had the distinct honour of hosting Dr. Matthias Dörrzapf from the University of Cambridge on 9th April.
Dr. Dörrzapf is a highly respected scholar, currently serving as the Director of Scholarships and International Programmes at St John's College.
During his visit, Dr. Dörrzapf delivered an engaging talk on the collegiate system, highlighting the unique educational approach and teaching style at Cambridge. He also provided valuable insights into the wide array of opportunities and promising career paths available to students.
The mini-lecture delivered by Dr. Dörrzapf left the members of the Mathematics Team particularly enthralled and inspired.
We express our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Dörrzapf for gracing us with his presence and sharing his expertise with our community.

Eight boys recently took part in the Beijing Sister School Exchange Programme alongside girls from Maryknoll Convent School and Heep Yunn School. From March 23rd to 29th, they embarked on an enriching journey of cultural immersion.
During their stay, our boys had the privilege of living with host families and experiencing dormitory life, creating lasting bonds with peers from Beijing. They also had the amazing opportunity to attend classes at The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China (人大附中), one of Mainland China's top schools, expanding their knowledge and perspectives.
Their adventure didn't end there! Our boys explored Beijing's wonders and gourmets, visiting Universal Studio, the Palace Museum, and even participating in a workshop on drawing Tu'er Ye (兔兒爺). This exchange programme has left them with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for different cultures.

We had an incredible turnout of 40 talented F.5 students for the exclusive "A Day at HKUMed" program, hosted by the prestigious HKU Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine.
The program was designed to forge connections and actively involve prospective students in various educational and interactive activities. Our participants had the privilege of learning from seasoned professionals and current MBBS students, gaining invaluable insights into life as an MBBS student. They were also introduced to the Faculty's diverse range of programs.
Throughout the day, the students were captivated by the cutting-edge technologies on display. They got to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of Anatomy through Virtual Reality and explore the thrilling realm of Augmented Reality in an engaging Ophthalmology workshop. Moreover, they even acquired some basic clinical skills!
Alongside these hands-on experiences, our students were treated to two captivating lectures, offering them a tantalizing glimpse into the captivating world of medicine.

The College is thrilled to share the huge success of our first-ever cross-team production by the Drama Team and the Dance Team in early March. In the Drama and Dance Showcase, the two teams presented captivating performances, with storylines ranging from secondary school friendships and life in a remote orphanage to the rescue of a teenage Japanese ninja and Victoria Park elderly individuals reminiscing about the old days. The stage was filled with passion, joy, and creativity. This mesmerizing showcase demonstrated the hard work and commitment of our Drama and Dance Team members as it was completely organized and led by all student performers and behind-the-scenes crew, who spent countless hours on the production. The Drama Team and the Dance Team would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all teacher advisors and coaches for their guidance and assistance. We would also like to thank all the audience members for their support as your encouragement meant the world to our talented students.
